Pro & Elite Athletes

Pro/Elite Athlete’s start with a detailed evaluation. The evaluation includes a mobility/flexibility assessment, physical performance measurements, mental performance test and a detailed biomechanical analysis of sprinting (if applicable). Following the initial evaluation, a custom training program is designed for the athlete.

Jason Michaels
“Training at Cooper’s allowed me to become a faster, stronger, and a more knowledgeable athlete.” -Jason Michaels, Houston Astros

Pro/Elite level training last two hours. Sessions are highly individualistic to their sport, training history, injury limitations and career goals. Furthermore, training sessions go through four consecutive phases. Training phases typically start with a linear progression and move to an undulated training model.

The initial phase starts with general physical preparation and functional strength. We then progress through strength, max-strength, power, and finishing with an undulated phase. The first thirty minutes of a training session is dedicated to movement prep, mobility/ flexibility, core strength and speed mechanics. The remainder of the sessions focus is on plyometrics, explosive power and strength development

NFL Veteran/Rookie Athletes:

The average NFL career is short. Our goal is to keep the athlete playing at the highest level and competing for the longest possible duration. We achieve this by assessing each athletes’ injury potential and provide a training program that will help minimize injury while enhancing performance.

The veteran evaluation includes a mobility/flexibility assessment, physical performance measurements, mental performance test and a detailed biomechanical analysis of movement. Following the initial evaluation, a custom training program is designed for the athlete.

NFL Draft/Combine Prep. Athletes

Preparing for the NFL combine or a pro day is one of the most important things in an athlete’s career. We have been preparing athletes for the draft for over a decade. Cooper is the place that fast athlete’s come to get faster.

This program typically runs ten to twelve weeks. The sessions include one to three trainings per day. Morning sessions consist of position specific and speed mechanics training. Afternoon sessions focus on speed and power performance.

Furthermore, athletes have access to the highest quality physical therapy and recovery services, which includes prepared meals for the week. Athletes and sport agents receive weekly reports outlining continued progress (A. seen below) Additionally, housing can be arranged per athletes’ request. Please see Draft prep packet seen below:

Pro Baseball Athletes

Pitchers-

Pitchers receive a detailed mobility assessment to asses’ functional movement competency, muscular deficits and joint stability qualities. Pitchers are then assessed through performance measurements including explosive power in all three planes of motion. Rotational power (transverse) is measured in MPH with various medicine ball throws. Multiple plyometrics movements including vertical, transverse, and single leg jumps are used to measure frontal and sagittal movement performance. Furthermore, as pitchers’ progress into the later phases of training; baseball throwing velocity, spin rate, and biometrics are measured during high-speed throwing. Everything being measured from the mound.

Hitters –

Hitters start with a detailed evaluation. The evaluation includes a mobility/flexibility assessment, physical performance measurements, mental performance test, and a detailed biomechanical analysis of sprinting.  Hitters undergo baseball swing metrics including ball speed, ball trajectory, bat speed, and biometrics. Following the initial evaluation, a custom training program is designed for the athlete.

Training sessions are two hours long and focus on a variety of skills based on the athlete’s goals, sport, and training needs.
